I was quite excited when I read the instructions for task 5 because I love visiting places and Auckland has so much to offer!
I decided to to take a trip to Rangitoto, which is a place that I've wanted to visit for quite a long time. Before I went there, I did some research on the internet.
This website http://www.rangitoto.org/ had some useful information on Rangitoto island. I was surprised to learn that Rangitoto is the youngest volcano in Auckland and is only 700 years old!
It was also important for me to plan my trip to Rangitoto as I knew I would have to take a bus to town and then a ferry from the ferry terminal. I used http://www.maxx.co.nz/ to plan my bus journey and
http://www.fullers.co.nz/tickets-fares/timetables/rangitoto-island.php to plan my ferry journey. I was very pleased to find out about these websites as they will be useful for journey planning in the future.
The trip over to Rangitoto island was amazing. It started off cloudy but then turned into a beautiful morning and I was happy to be up early enjoying the day. I took some pictures on the ferry.
