For task 3 I had to research a religion or spiritual belief that was different from my own.
First I had a chat with my friend Karen, who's a Christian.
She invited me to attend a Christian church service with her so I did. Here is the church:
This sign was at the front of the church. It tells people the times of all the services that are held during the week.
...and here is the booklet that they gave us to use during the service:
Summary of the Church Service
At the beginning of the service, we all stood up and the priest and some other people walked slowly down the aisle of the church. We were singing a hymn (I tried to follow the music!). Then there were some prayers (we all had to kneel), and some readings from the Bible. After we did some more singing (I enjoyed that part), the priest gave a long sermon, and then we all had to turn around to say hello to our neighbours. Then all the people went up the front in turn to take Communion. They had to eat something and drink something, which represents the body and blood of Jesus Christ. I couldn't do that because I'm not Catholic. After that there were more prayers and hymns, and then the service finished. Afterwards there was a cup of tea and refreshments in the hall, and the priest came and talked to me. It was a good experience for me.
